Tucked under a 4.5m height restriction above the ridge at Little Kaiteriteri a new family home makes the most of great all round views. The home is composed of two blocks. The single story living block, comprising the kitchen and the living areas, opens onto terraces both northwards and southwards using large sliding glass doors. The two storey block houses the garage, the entry and children's and entertainment areas at low level, and adult's bedrooms with ensuites at the high level. Careful, clear planning creates a comfortable flow through the dwelling and particular attention has been given to framing interesting views wherever possible. Three separate outdoor relaxation areas, a sunken barbeque area, a sun terrace to the north and a shade terrace to the south, give the family the variety of sheltered areas for all weather conditions. The building has a combination of flat mono pitch roofs which have been designed to provide a generous eave for solar protection. A combination of James Hardie's Linea weatherboard and plaster wall claddings, finished in subtle shades of gray, ensures the building blends with its neighbours and surrounding hillscape.
