This bach is embedded into a north-facing hill overlooking the beautiful Little Kaiteriteri Bay.

The design focuses on simple, informal living patterns for a family on holiday.  Rather than a formal front door, you enter this bach by gently descending tiled steps into a secluded and sheltered entry courtyard which offers views through the living area to the bay beyond.

The private courtyard is perfectly suited as an extra outdoor living space, featuring an outdoor fire and access to the kitchen as well as giving protection from the wind.  Quality natural exterior materials like copper for the roof and cedar weatherboards provide recessive colours which let the building blend beautifully into its surroundings.

Careful planning on the inside separates adult zones from children's areas.  Sliding doors facilitate flexibility of space in the bunk areas, and for rainy days a children's games room is located out of sight and hearing under the main deck.

The simple clean lines of the white rooms inside create a calm and inspirational place for family holidays.
