Silver Award
This two-storey Motueka family home is built facing north for maximum sun exposure, but also orientates itself towards the ever changing views of the estuary in the east. At ground level, gardens merge with entry ramps, and fair-face concrete block walls divide the public entrance zone from the more private spa pool and court yard areas. Reaching the top of the stairs, there is a pause point where you can admire the view before entering the living area. Within the living room, clear planning a restricted palette of materials and colours create a calm and relaxing environment. Views are carefully framed; notably through the feature box window with its free standing wood burner. The exterior concrete block walls 'anchor' the building and provide support for the banked gardens. The various shades of grey on the exterior unite the building and enable this dwelling to blend comfortably with its surroundings. This new home is the perfect place to enjoy the rural delights of Motueka and its adjacent estuary. Contact Us to discuss how InHaus can help you |
